The Étoile ("star") was a 44-gun of the French Navy.
She sailed with the Sultane as a commerce raider. On 24 January 1814, the French squadron met with the frigates HMS Astra and HMS Creole.
While returning from the Cape Verde Islands, she was captured on 27 March 1814 by the frigate HMS Hebrus and the brig HMS Sparrow. She was recommissioned in the Royal Navy as HMS Topaze
